Ōtorohanga Stopbank Pathway running along the Waipa River protecting the town from flooding risk is a walking and cycling track with the elevation providing views of the river as well as nearby parks, sports grounds and the like.

Storyboards and works of art along the 3.5km pathway give interesting insights into local history and culture. Graded easy and wheelchair and pushchair accessible, the pathway can be accessed at several points including at Waipa Esplanade near the New Zealand Motor Caravan Association Park and at Phillips Avenue on the northern side of town.
