Omaru Falls Walk - WaikatoNZ

Somewhat of a hidden gem in the Waitomo district of the Waikato region is the Omaru Falls Walk.

This gentle 30 minute walk takes in bush surrounds home to native ferns and rimu, and crosses farmland before reaching the stunning Omaru waterfall.

There is a picturesque picnic spot beside the river and a small terraced waterfall, or continue up the track of the lookout point which provides great views of the 45m falls.

Please Note: Many of the walking trails in the Hamilton & Waikato region do not allow dogs. Hamilton & Waikato Tourism recommend checking with the Department of Conservation before taking your dog on any of the trails in the region.

Proximity to Town:

12km south of Te Kuiti, turn left at the Taumaranui/National Park turnoff on SH4. Omaru Road and the Omaru Falls turnoff is 19km on the right hand side and are clearly signposted, with parking available.
