Marokopa Falls Waitomo
Remain behind the barrier as the platform has been removed and the ground is unsafe to walk over.
Along the drive from Waitomo Village towards Marokopa are a variety of short walks including the Marokopa Falls Walk.
The easy, 20-minute return walk passes through a native tawa and nikau forest to reach the viewing platform for Marokopa Falls.
The falls divides the Marokopa River into two fisheries, providing popular trout fishing spots along the river.
At 35m high, the Marokopa falls are said to be one of the most beautiful in the country and are well worth a visit.
Please Note: Many of the walking trails in the Waikato region do not allow dogs. Hamilton & Waikato Tourism recommend checking with the Department of Conservation before taking your dog on any of the trails in the region.
