Victoria on the River

Victoria Street, Hamilton
Overlooked by the giant mural of a swooping kārearea (native New Zealand falcon), the amphitheatre-style park Victoria on the River is a welcoming open space to visit in the heart of Hamilton City.

It’s connected to the popular Waikato River walking and cycling pathway and is just off the main street, Victoria Street, with shopping, eateries and bars adjacent.

As well as being a pleasing place to simply sit and people watch, admire the river setting, read a book, or have a picnic, Victoria on the River is also where you can catch live music, street theatre and other activities.

This Hamilton attraction has a green and organic feel thanks to thousands of plants that blend with other native foliage along the riverbank.
