Lake Hakanoa Huntly Domain

The picturesque Lake Hakanoa in Huntly, is a popular and easy family friendly walking trail in the North Waikato.

The lake walkway is split into thirteen zones including a native tree reserve, Japanese Garden, Global Garden, Wildlife Gardens, Palm Beach, Contemporary Maori Garden, Green Cathedral, Ponga Grove, wetlands and more, making for great picnic spots along the way.

A mostly flat and metaled track, the Lake Hakanoa walkway is perfect for prams, walking the dog or an easy running track.

Hamilton Golf Club was the venue for the 2023 NZ Amateur Championship, and 2024 NZ Mid-Amateur Championship. Located in the suburb of St Andrews on the northern side of Hamilton the course is only just over an hours drive from central Auckland making it a great course to visit on your days off. It is just a few minutes drive from the centre of the city. Steve & Sarah Hancock operate the pro shop, offering NZPGA Coaching, hire clubs, trundlers and golf carts.

The Matahuru Valley Walk is special. We offer two packages - Either 1 or 2 night retreat. Tui Ridge is a comfortable secluded farmhouse with your walks either leaving straight from there or a short 5 minute drive down the valley. No packing your bags up to go to the next bunk house here! You can relax and follow your own timetable; have a leisurely breakfast and a relaxing read of your magazine before starting your walk at 10 - no problem. We cater for a range of abilities and fitness levels. We can also offer several options for walkers - including a few shorter walks. We have an abundance of beautiful farmland, stunning views, several stands of native bush and the Matahuru Stream.

Opening in 2013, Bucking Boar Cornfield Maze has designed and cut new maze designs each year into a 5 acre field. Designed for all to try and navigate their way through, with hidden stations and puzzles to be found and deciphered throughout. Afterwards whizz down and cool off on Waikato's best outdoor waterslides, there are 3 to enjoy. A fiberglass 55-meter slide complete with twists and turns, dual race inflatable slide and a kids 40 meter inflatable slide that allows people of all ages to experience the fun of sliding through the countryside. Make sure you enjoy a real fruit ice cream from the café at the end of the day. There's something for everyone at this stunning yet relaxed countryside theme park.
