Waikato Car & Commercial Rentals is a locally owned and operated Vehicle Rental Company. Established in 1993 with a late model vehicle fleet. These include Cars, SUVs, Minibuses, People Movers, Cargo Vans, Furniture Trucks, Utes and Motorcycles.
We provide good quality vehicles and service at excellent rates which in turn ensures repeat clients and word of mouth business. We are members of the NZ Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association who require very high standards in rental vehicles and service from its members.
All our vehicles are late model, well maintained and presented in an immaculate condition. They all comply with the New Zealand Land Transport Safety Authority's strict requirements.
Our goal is to ensure that your vehicle hire is hassle-free and competitively priced to suit your budget, available to you 7 days a week.

Avantidrome – guided tour
Discover Waikato’s world class facility, centered around a purpose built 250m wooden with a guided tour. A great opportunity to learn about the history of the Avantidrome and find out more about the facilities and programmes we have on offer. While you are here, grab yourself a spot in the stands and watch New Zealand’s track cyclists train or perhaps rub shoulders with one of the Waikato/BOP Magic players or All Blacks Sevens team in the tunnel. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some of New Zealand’s Olympic heroes hanging around. Avantidrome Tours take place on a weekly basis. Carve Your Own Hei Tiki
Carve your own traditional Māori pendant - the hei tiki. This workshop is designed for intermediate-level carvers in mind, but lower level carvers are also welcome. This workshop will take a minimum of 2 consecutive days to complete. In this workshop, we will cover the cultural history of the form, the tools and skills necessary for stone-carving and will guide participants through the process of creating a pounamu hei tiki. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a fully completed and bound hei tiki to take home.

2026 New Zealand Photography Workshop and Tour: South Island Winter 12 Days
The winter light in the South Island offers superb conditions and we will be photographing an incredible variety of landscapes including Aoraki/Mt Cook and the Southern Alps, Moeraki Boulders, Fiordland National Park, Milford Sound, Fox Glacier, Lake Matheson and the Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki. We will also photograph at hidden backcountry locations which few others know of. One of the highlights of our journey is the private helicopter flight into the untouched wilds of the Fiordland National Park, where we capture compelling images of the glacier-carved landscape.
