Directions to Hamilton Airport

South from Hamilton City:

  • Follow State Highway 1 towards Cambridge.Take the Tamahere turn-off, and at the 1st roundabout take the 3rd exit, which takes you under the main road.
  • Drive straight through the 2nd roundabout, heading west onto Airport Rd (State Highway 21).
  • Follow Airport Rd (State Highway 21) and the signs to Hamilton Airport, which is situated on the right-hand side approximately 4.8kms from the Tamahere turn-off.

South West from Hamilton City:

  • Take State Highway 3 along Ohaupo Rd towards Te Awamutu.
  • Follow the airport signs along Ohaupo Rd out of the city and through Rukuhia until you come to the junction of State Highway 3 and State Highway 21 (approximately 3.8kms from Rukuhia).
  • Turn left at the junction into Airport Rd (State Highway 21) and Hamilton Airport is approximately 1.8kms along Airport Rd on the left hand side.

Karamu Trail Track offers safe unique & adventurous horse treks in the varied stunning surrounds of native bush, streams, limestone rocks, and rolling farmland. You'll often see our young horses & foals frolicking as well as cows, peacocks, turkeys, pheasants, rabbits, hares & birds as we ride along. With over 100 different tracks to choose from every trek is different, and allows us to cater for the very beginner to the advanced. Choose from 1, 2, or 4 hour treks, or for a really special treat try our 2hr twilight/glow worm rides. Scheduled treks go out every weekend, public holiday, and school holidays at 10am & 1pm, with 3:30pm available also. Weekdays by demand. Bookings essential. Accommodation is also available.
