Best places to watch the sunset in the Waikato
From coastal views in Raglan and Port Waikato to peaceful lakes and riverside spots, the Waikato has plenty of places to watch the sun go down. Here are some of the best sunset spots to add to your next Waikato trip.
Ngarunui Beach, Raglan
With a wide stretch of black sand and uninterrupted views across the Tasman Sea, Ngarunui Beach is one of the best places to watch the sunset in Raglan. Take a walk along the beach, find a spot above the sand or stay to watch surfers catch the final waves of the day. Allow time to arrive and park before sunset, particularly during summer and on weekends.
Manu Bay, Raglan

This amphitheatre-style public park in central Hamilton overlooks the Waikato River and connects directly with the river path network.
