YWCA Waikato provides single and twin share hostel accommodation for both women and men in our central city location. With a quiet location within an easy walk to city centre, sports stadium, theatres, Waikato Hospital and Wintec, with vistas over the city the YWCA Hostel is a great location to stay. Backpackers $55 per night including bedding, linen, basic kitchen utensils, parking and WIFI. Rooms are also rented for longer periods starting from $202 per week in a single room (security deposit required). Good value for money the hostel is clean and tidy and has a friendly, international atmosphere. If you are looking for affordable accommodation, you do not need to look any further.

The quaint settlement of Cambridge is close by. We were particularly drawn to the areas natural beauty, as was Peter Jackson when he chose to film his magical Hobbits here. However, it was the mighty Waikato river, woodland walks and verdant fields, home to New Zealand’s pre-eminent thoroughbred horse industry that drew us in. Following the devastating 2011 ‘quakes, we missed hosting and felt that this new ‘Hadleigh’ was really quite superb, a place we would be proud to share with our guests.
