There is lots to see and do with the Makahika stream and Ohau River a mere 5 minute walk away, and for the more adventurous guests, there are a number of local walks nearby such as the 2 hour Trig Track, the 7 hour Mangahao Dam and the Tararua Northern Crossing.

Māhoe Cabin is located in the Waikato, 17 minutes from Morrinsville, 1 hour and 35 minutes from Auckland City, or 35 minutes from Hamilton City. The cabin consists of a fully enclosed bedroom with a simple but lovely interior. Nordic spruce lines the walls and beautiful natural linens and fibres adorn the bed. Directly outside the bedroom is an outdoor living and kitchen area. An outdoor fire with a mini bread/pizza oven is the perfect place to sit in the evening and watch the birds flitting through the wetlands.
