The fridge and microwave provide opportunity to prepare light meals if desired. Breakfast is a sumptuous affair with home grown and local produce. Guests are welcome throughout the Lodge and grounds. Complimentary evening drinks and canapes is a social occasion, where guests can enjoy company outdoors or in the baronial Red room, here a warming fire creates a cosy atmosphere if the weather is cool.

Bruntwood Lodge is a 3-bedroom Bed & Breakfast situated in peaceful rural surroundings of Cambridge, offering adult-only accommodation with electronic 24-hour access, free WIFI and ample parking. Set on 5 acres, Hadleigh is accessed down a rural lane, the tranquil setting belies its proximity to Hamilton city’s, renowned gardens and busy night life. The quaint settlement of Cambridge is close by. We were particularly drawn to the areas natural beauty, as was Peter Jackson when he chose to film his magical Hobbits here. However, it was the mighty Waikato river, woodland walks and verdant fields, home to New Zealand’s pre-eminent thoroughbred horse industry that drew us in. Following the devastating 2011 ‘quakes, we missed hosting and felt that this new ‘Hadleigh’ was really quite superb, a place we would be proud to share with our guests.
