Step into a world of music, performance and light as D LIGHT transforms TreeChurch and Gardens in Ōhaupō into an immersive after-dark experience.
Running from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 October 2026, D LIGHT invites visitors to wander through four unique performance spaces set throughout the gardens, with live music, poetry, atmospheric lighting and performance creating something different around every corner. D LIGHT - Press Release
Rather than watching a single show from your seat, you’ll move between the gardens at your own pace, discovering performances in distinctive settings across the property. D LIGHT - Press Release
At the heart of the experience, the natural TreeChurch will host Horomona Horo alongside pianist and electronic artist Jeremy Mayall. Elsewhere, string quartet Kulios will perform beneath a World War II parachute canopy, poets Nadia Soloman, Michael Moore and Sam Clunie will take over the atmospheric Labyrinth, and Nathan King of ZED will perform Under the Sails. Lighting installations will illuminate the gardens and performance spaces throughout the evening, bringing the landscape to life after dark. Food and drinks will also be available at The Gantry, giving visitors a place to pause between performances. D LIGHT - Press Release
Performances run for approximately 20–25 minutes, beginning on the half hour from 7.30pm, with the final performances starting at 9.30pm. The experience finishes at 10pm. Capacity is limited to just 320 guests per night, creating an intimate way to experience TreeChurch and Gardens in a completely different light.

We are a 4 star Qualmark motel handy to Hamilton CBD. The apartments are refurbished. Our two bedroom units offer queen beds in each bedroom, a large bathroom with spa bath and toilet. An extra toilet/powder room is a definite feature of these rooms. Many of the apartments have large spa baths. All have good sized kitchenettes, many with new fridge freezer.
All beds are queen sized and very comfortable after a long journey or a busy day.
The Motel complex is modern, attractive and well laid out - free parking is available for all units.
