The Annual Pirongia Craft Day is a vibrant community event held in the charming village of Pirongia, New Zealand. Each year, this eagerly anticipated day attracts thousands of visitors who come to enjoy a wide array of handcrafted goods, delicious food, and lively entertainment.

The event showcases the talents of local artisans and crafters, offering unique items such as jewellery, pottery, textiles, and artwork. The Pirongia Craft Day is a celebration of creativity and community spirit, making it a must-visit event for locals and tourists alike.

The road is closed from 6am when over 200 pre-allocated and paid for sites will be set up. Stallholders are open for business from 9am to 3pm creating a unique vibrant, friendly village atmosphere. Set on 5 acres, Hadleigh is accessed down a rural lane, the tranquil setting belies its proximity to Hamilton city’s, renowned gardens and busy night life. The quaint settlement of Cambridge is close by. We were particularly drawn to the areas natural beauty, as was Peter Jackson when he chose to film his magical Hobbits here. However, it was the mighty Waikato river, woodland walks and verdant fields, home to New Zealand’s pre-eminent thoroughbred horse industry that drew us in. Following the devastating 2011 ‘quakes, we missed hosting and felt that this new ‘Hadleigh’ was really quite superb, a place we would be proud to share with our guests.
