Akatea Villa is a boutique rural accommodation located 8km north of Hamilton City. Akatea is built with a commitment to sustainability and is eco friendly. The villa is private, spacious and quiet. The rural views are beautiful including the Hakarimata range around to Mount Pirongia. The house is ideally situated for the wedding venue Woodlands historic homestead, Willow Glen cafe, Camellia Tea House, Gordonton and the Waikato river cycleway. Centrally located for Hamilton gardens and activities in and around Hamilton city. The villa is located within 90 minutes to Auckland airport, Tauranga, Rotorua, Waitomo. Only 40 minutes to the beautiful Raglan surf beach.

Friends and Family Flight Experience is a flight in a four seat aircraft you will have a qualified flight instructor and up to two passengers can be there to share the experience. During the flight you can take control, The flight is 20 minutes long and is over hamilton City.

Sands Carving Studio

Carve Your Own Hei Tiki

Carve your own traditional Māori pendant - the hei tiki. This workshop is designed for intermediate-level carvers in mind, but lower level carvers are also welcome. This workshop will take a minimum of 2 consecutive days to complete. In this workshop, we will cover the cultural history of the form, the tools and skills necessary for stone-carving and will guide participants through the process of creating a pounamu hei tiki. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a fully completed and bound hei tiki to take home.
