Akatea Villa is a boutique rural accommodation located 8km north of Hamilton City. Akatea is built with a commitment to sustainability and is eco friendly. The villa is private, spacious and quiet. The rural views are beautiful including the Hakarimata range around to Mount Pirongia. The house is ideally situated for the wedding venue Woodlands historic homestead, Willow Glen cafe, Camellia Tea House, Gordonton and the Waikato river cycleway. Centrally located for Hamilton gardens and activities in and around Hamilton city. The villa is located within 90 minutes to Auckland airport, Tauranga, Rotorua, Waitomo. Only 40 minutes to the beautiful Raglan surf beach.

We were particularly drawn to the areas natural beauty, as was Peter Jackson when he chose to film his magical Hobbits near here. However, it was the mighty Waikato River, woodland walks and verdant fields that drew us in. This new ‘Hadleigh’ is really quite superb, there are 2.5 acres of stunning gardens which featured in the prestigious House & Garden publication, a garden we are proud to share.
