Join us for People, Places & Progress: Hamilton & Waikato Tourism’s Industry Symposium on the BNZ Theatre Stage on 01 September 2026. The event begins at 9am and runs until 2.30pm, followed by a networking lunch.

Stephanie Hay and Sue Loder from SODA Inc. sharing strategies for crisis management and business resilience.
Jezza Williams from Adapting Aotearoa will deliver an inspiring presentation on accessibility and inclusion.
Nicola Greenwell - Hamilton and Waikato Tourism will provide a regional activity update and share the latest Waikato data and insights.
Breakout Sessions – Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions with Russell Drake (EMA), Guy Schwikkard (Yonder), and a speaker from one of New Zealand's major events will share valuable perspectives on leadership, innovation, events, and business growth.
Kyle Mulinder from BareKiwi will discuss storytelling, media engagement, and successful creator partnerships.

HWT members: $49 + GST per person
Non-members: $59 + GST per person

Please note: This event is intended for businesses and tourism operators operating within the Hamilton & Waikato Tourism RTO boundaries. If your business is located outside this area, we have a limited number of places available. Please contact us to discuss your options.
Refund Policy:
We understand that circumstances may change, and we want to ensure a fair and transparent refund process for all attendees of Hamilton & Waikato Tourism activities. Please read the following refund policy carefully:
Cancellation and Refund Requests:
If you wish to cancel your registration and request a refund, please submit your request in writing via email to aimee@waikatonz.com. The date on which the email is received will determine the eligibility of the refund according to the following terms:Refund Timeline:
Requests received on or before Tuesday 18 August 2026 (14 days before the event) will be eligible for a full refund, minus any applicable processing fees.
Requests received after Tuesday 18 August 2026 and up to Tuesday 25 August 2026 (7 days before the event) will be eligible for a 50% refund, minus any applicable processing fees.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations received less than 7 days before the event's start date or for no-shows on the event day.
Transfer of Registration:
If you are unable to attend but would like to transfer your registration to another person, please notify Aimee at aimee@waikatonz.com with the new attendee's name and contact details. Transfers can be made up until 48 hours before the event.Event Cancellation:
In the unlikely event the Symposium is cancelled all registered attendees will be entitled to a full refund of their registration fee.Processing Fees:
Please note that any applicable processing fees (transaction fees) associated with the initial registration and subsequent refund will be deducted from the refunded amount.Refund Disbursement:
Refunds will be processed within 14 days from the date the refund request is approved. The refund will be made using the same method of payment used during the registration process.
