Due to the recent heavy rainfall, a number of roads and walking/cycling tracks in the Waikato are closed. If you are travelling to or through the Waikato region, please visit Waka Kotahi’s Journey Planner website for up-to-date roading information and check the local Council’s Facebook page for the latest updates and advice.

Upcoming HWT Industry Workshops

HWT have developed a varied range of workshops that we hope you will find beneficial.

Hamilton & Waikato Tourism are pleased to utilise part of our Tourism Support, Recovery and Reset (TSRR) funding to provide direct support to tourism operators in the mighty Waikato by offering capability building opportunities. The 2022 schedule of workshops including the HWT Industry Symposium will continue to be updated here.

TRC Consultants Tracy Johnston and Kylie Ruwhiu-Karawana will draw on their practical experience to facilitate this workshop. TRC is a presented global leader in delivering solutions for tourism, recreation, and conservation solutions.

Kylie and Tracy will talk through visitor expectations and how to understand and build a value proposition of experience to fit the target market, what sustainable pricing looks like, capture what packages might work to strengthen the destination’s positioning to create a more compelling reason to visit the region, and how these packages can be facilitated using some of the tools you already have to hand.

Come along prepared to actively participate in this 4-hour workshop.
