Te Awa River Ride is one of most accessible & scenic cycling & walking trails in New Zealand. It's the longest concrete path in the country winding its way for 65km from Ngaruawahia to Lake Karapiro following the Waikato river. Day 1 After being shuttled from the Velodrome to Ngaruawahia. Cycle 33.5km from the start of the trail to Tamahere, where your shuttle will drive you to your overnight accommodation. Highlights include Perry Bridge, Durham precinct, Mangaharakeke Paa site, St Andrews Golf Club to the world famous, Hamilton Gardens. Day 2 Your shuttle driver will collect you & take you back to where you finished Day 1 in Tamahere. River views, boardwalks, bridges, picnic stops all meet you as you make your way to Lake Karapiro.
