Puweto Festival - World Wetlands Day

Join the National Wetland Trust and our partners at lovely Lake Rotopiko to celebrate wetland biodiversity on World Wetlands Day.

Lots of great family fun activities planned - walks, talks, colour-in and more. We have named our festival after puweto (spotless crake) - a shy wetland bird that lives at Rotopiko. The event is being organised by the National Wetland Trust in association with Mercury, Waikato Regional Council, NZ Landcare Trust, Forest and Bird/ KCC, Go Eco, Treelands, Waikato Ecological Restoration Trust, Ohaupo Ngahinapouri Lions Club, and Outdoor Kids.
