Matariki Events

Matariki is known as the Maori New Year and is marked by the rising of the cluster of stars named Pleiades. Matariki is a time of sharing and celebration. Check out the range of 2020 Matariki events on in the Waikato.

The 2020 Matariki ki Waikato Festival has taken a different approach to celebrations and events in the wake of COVID-19. Many of the annual events will be online with a collection of live opportunities to engage with kaupapa Māori in the mix too.
