FIFA Women's World Cup 2023

The FIFA Women’s World Cup is coming to New Zealand and Hamilton will be part of the football action with Waikato Stadium being announced as one of the host venues for the 2023 tournament.

Hamilton will host games in the ninth edition of the quadrennial world championship for women’s national football, which is scheduled to take place in July and August 2023.

The tournament is being jointly hosted by New Zealand and Australia – the first time a FIFA tournament has been co-hosted across two football confederations – and will also for the first-time ever see the FIFA Women's World Cup expanded from 24 to 32 teams.

Hamilton has previously hosted FIFA events including the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup 2008 and the FIFA Under-20 World Cup 2015. The full match schedule of games and teams for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 will be confirmed by FIFA in due course.
