What is your current role?
I work at SkyCity Hamilton as the Events and Conference Coordinator. My role is dedicated to selling our venues and coordinating events that occur onsite, alongside our amazing functions team.
What do you enjoy about working for SkyCity Hamilton?
Working alongside my colleagues. Everyone at SkyCity is super supportive of helping you grow and develop in your career.
What was your first job?
I worked at a Fish and Chip shop in a small town called Ngatea where I grew up. I worked here during Highschool.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Younger me always wanted to be involved in theatre/the arts. This is still a big passion of mine!
What is an achievement or special credential you're really proud of?
Later this year, I will be embarking on a solo mission to the states. I’m proud of myself for taking the leap and embarking on this trip!
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I play social soccer, I also love playing chess and walking river tracks.
What are you most grateful for in your life?
I am very close with my Family and most grateful for them. There is loads of us, with 6 siblings, 25 cousins, 7 aunties and 6 uncles - family gatherings are always full on! I also just became an auntie 😊
Who inspires you and why?
My Dad has and will always be a big inspiration in my life. Growing up, he was always helping others no matter what the cost to himself was. He is such a kind, thoughtful and generous man who is always smiling. He inspires me to always have a positive outlook on life, no matter what the situation is!
Have you got a favourite aphorism/motto?
Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it.
What is your favourite spot in the Waikato?
I may be bias, but the river walk in Hamilton is absolutely stunning! I try walk down here at least 3 times a week.
