What is your current role?

Conference Manager University of Waikato

What do you enjoy about working for the University of Waikato?

The fabulous team I work with and the interesting people I get to meet during the process of organising their Conference on our lovely Campus .I love the variety and diversity my role offers, no two days are ever the same.

What was your first job?

An after-school part time position in the local Drapery Store-I was 15 and allowed to cut fabric which I thought was pretty cool way back then.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A nurse. I was accepted for General Nursing however the local Postmaster rang my parents to offer me a position in the Te Kauwhata Post Office.

What is an achievement or special credential you're really proud of?

I am proud my family they bring me great joy..

What do you do in your spare time?

Catch up with family and friends. I love cycling, walking, singing and the joy music brings me . I love spending time with my family especially biking and kayaking and enjoying the beach.

What are you most grateful for in your life?

My wonderful family and Grandchildren and dear friends.

Who inspires you and why?

So many people inspire me, life throws many curveballs , and I have watched friends and family dealing with these times with such acceptance and dignity.

Have you got a favourite aphorism/motto?

Be kind, you don't know what battles others are fighting

What is your favourite spot in the Waikato?

Anywhere near the Waikato River. I have so many favourite spots especially along our fabulous cycleways. I love Raglan.
