The great thing about Hamilton is that it’s right in the heart of things. In less than an hour’s drive, you can be on the wild west coast exploring the hip township and famous surf break of Raglan. How about visiting the Lord of the Ring’s Hobbiton on a farm near Matamata, or soaking in a hot spring spa. Imagine marvelling at the majestic glow worm caves of Waitomo. Or taking yourself back to 1872 and the Maori Land Wars as you pace the Alexandra Redoubts near the country town of Pirongia. As for Hamilton itself, there are plenty of treasures for visitors.
Flowing through the centre of the city is the mighty Waikato, New Zealand’s longest river, and under the weeping willows you can follow the cobbled pathways for miles.
The Hamilton Gardens are truly spectacular so if you do nothing else, be sure to pay them a visit. Themes including Italian Renaissance, American Pop Art, English Country and more make these unique gardens a work of art. There are also hot air balloon rides, an excellent zoo and the central city shops, cafes and theatres to enjoy.

A total of our conference rooms with attached private reception lounges are available. These offer capacity for up to 600 delegates theatre style seating, alternatively 280 classroom style seating. Each conference room can be broken down to seat 150pax theatre style seating or 60pax classroom style seating.
To make it easy, reception lounges are inclusive in the cost when hiring a conference room. These reception lounges are ideal for breakout, workshops, exhibition space and morning and afternoon teas. These areas run concurrent with the main conference rooms. The lounges also come with their own private bar facilities, great after a hard day’s conference to be able to mix and mingle in your own private room.
To compliment the conference rooms, Distinction also features three seminar rooms for smaller meetings or workshops. The three seminar rooms collectively seat up to 120 delegates in a theatre-style configuration.
