What is your current role?
Managing Director of ACLX
What do you enjoy about working at ACLX?
I love working with all our different clients to help them realise their vision. I also love our team and our culture.
What was your first job?
Working as a paperboy for the New Zealand Herald. I was paid about $20 per week. We started before sun up and I remember that the winter mornings were pretty unbearable.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Early on I wanted to be a Pilot but as I got older I always knew I wanted to play a part in the entertainment industry.
What is an achievement or special credential you're really proud of?
I am proud of growing ACLX from a company which took up a corner in my 36 square meter garage, to bursting at the seams in our current 500 square meter warehouse.
I am proud that I have maintained some sort of work life balance, and I am really proud of the cool little people my kids are becoming.
What do you do in your spare time?
Mountain bike, play golf, go fishing and spend time with the family.
What are you most grateful for in your life?
That's an easy one right now - I am most grateful that I get to spend every day in paradise and that I live in a country with such good values.
Who inspires you and why?
My ACLX team - it's pretty easy to stay invested and focused when all the people you are working with are so invested and focused.
Have you got a favourite aphorism / motto?
I still love "Work hard, play hard." It's a simple one but it's also an easy set of rules to live by.
What is your favourite spot in the Waikato?
There are so many it's hard to pick! I love Te Miro MTB Park, there is nothing like standing on the top of Pirongia or the Kaimai Ranges. Then there are all the cool spots like The Meteor Theatre, Mr Pickles and all the Good George Bars!!
