Against the stunning backdrop of New Zealand’s only commercial tea estate, a large freestanding X marked the spot where Coombes Johnston BMW officially unveiled the all-new vehicle, before approximately 100 clients.
The invited guests were then given the opportunity to get up close with the BMW X5, of which there were a number on show both inside Zealong’s multipurpose function facility, The Vista, and on the expansive grassed courtyard outside.
For the first time in a BMW, an xOffroad package allows the luxury vehicle to handle adverse conditions with greater ease than ever before, the system being demonstrated by the Coombes Johnston team in the estate’s on-site carpark.
While event attendees enjoyed canapés, mingled, and got a closer look at the new features of the BMW X5, they also had the chance to sample some of the award-winning tea grown just outside the venue, learning the art of appreciation of the world’s most consumed beverage (after water).
Zealong’s event manager Anish Singh said that it was exciting to be involved in the launch of the prestigious vehicle.
“It was great to host an event that made creative use of the spaces Zealong offers too, with cars parked both indoors and out, an unveiling there, a demonstration here – that flexibility is really what our function facilities were designed for.”
This is not the first time Zealong and BMW have partnered – in 2015, BMW Japan chose New Zealand-grown tea in favour of Japanese tea as a gift for those who test drove their exclusive BMW Fashionista model.
