Representatives from the Hamilton & Waikato Convention Bureau, Claudelands Conference & Exhibition Centre and Hobbiton Movie Set brought with them a taste of Middle-earth for the lucky attendees. Hobbiton brew and New Zealand wines were served on the Air New Zealand Sky Deck in Sydney, while live entertainment added to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Hamilton & Waikato Convention Bureau Manager, Amanda Graham says the event was a great way to leverage the region’s growing reputation for collaboration and teamwork among industry suppliers.

“Not only do international business event organisers now know where we are on a map, they are also recognising what makes us special in this industry. It’s all about working together as a region to make sure Hamilton & Waikato is seen as an easy and appealing destination for conferences and events.

“With the travel time from Auckland Airport to Hamilton continuing to decrease and our combined offering growing stronger all the time, we are in a better position to bid for larger conferences that in the past may not have considered us a viable destination.”

The Hamilton & Waikato Convention Bureau will conclude their 2016 networking event series with two Auckland based functions, to be held 14 and 15 September on the North Shore and Freemans bay respectively.
